Greenville County Municipal Court Warrants
Municipal Courts handle matters within city limits, including city traffic, misdemeanors, and ordinances. A missed date or unpaid criminal charge can create a court action, but the wording and resolution steps differ by city. A municipal warrant is not a General Sessions case just because both are in Greenville County.
Each city's court holds its own record. The County Clerk expressly says it does not retain Magistrate or Municipal Court files. If a city case does not appear in a county search, call the city court rather than assuming the matter is closed.
Greenville County Has No Single City Warrant Button
No one county portal was found that searches all five municipal courts or provides a public active-warrant roster. Greenville Municipal Court has a Public Portal/Search Cases route. Mauldin links its court page to Public Index. Greer, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn publish court contact and payment information, but no dedicated public warrant roster was located.
The safest route is the named city's clerk or court. GCSO's public pages describe Warrant Services and tip channels, not a municipal case search. A county-level result should not be treated as proof that a city-court warrant does not exist.
Greenville County Cities With Municipal Courts
These five cities publish their own Municipal Court contact routes. City limits and the ticket agency determine which office handles the case. County Magistrate Court is a separate summary-court route for county or state-agency matters.
Use the court name and citation printed on the notice. Do not use population or a nearby street address to infer which judge has authority.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Greenville | Greenville Municipal Court | City traffic, misdemeanors, ordinances, and environmental-code matters |
| Greer | Greer Municipal Court | City traffic, misdemeanors, warrants, and arraignments |
| Mauldin | Mauldin Municipal Court | City criminal, traffic, and ordinance cases |
| Simpsonville | Simpsonville Municipal Court | City traffic, criminal, and code matters |
| Fountain Inn | Fountain Inn Municipal Court | City misdemeanors, traffic, and ordinances in two counties |
Greenville County Simpsonville Warrants: Two Curtis Street Courts
Simpsonville Municipal Court and South Greenville Summary Court both list 445 E Curtis Street. They are separate courts. The city court handles municipal traffic, criminal, and code matters; South Greenville Summary Court handles county tickets, warrants, bonds, criminal, traffic, and civil cases.
The ticket's court and agency should control the call. A Greenville Sheriff or Highway Patrol matter heard at South Greenville is not automatically a Simpsonville city case. The County Clerk is not the summary-court custodian.
Checking a Greenville County Municipal Warrant
Start with the city court on the case. Greenville's portal is labelled Search Cases; Mauldin links Public Index; the other cities route readers through their court staff and published payment pages. Have the name, case or citation number, and date ready.
If the case is not municipal, use the county Magistrate, Clerk, or sheriff route shown by the court agency. The County Clerk does not keep these city files, and a records request goes to the office that holds the requested copy.
- Use the city's official court or Public Index link for a case trail, if one is offered.
- Search by the case or citation number; use a name only with the filters the court provides.
- Call the Municipal Court clerk if no result appears or a warrant action is listed.
- Ask whether payment, an appearance, bond, or written recall is required before traveling.
Greer Municipal Court Warrants in Greenville County
Greer's official court page says the Municipal Court is responsible for warrants, arraignments, and adjudication. It does not publish a public warrant list in the reviewed sources. The court's payment page says unpaid criminal charges can lead to a contempt warrant and gives city-specific payment instructions.
Greer publishes weekday and weekend administrative hours plus bond-posting windows. Confirm the current schedule with the court before a visit. Those windows describe Greer only; they are not a countywide municipal-court schedule.
Greenville County Municipal Warrant Record Fields
A city case may show its court agency, case or citation number, charge, date, payment, and later failure-to-appear or recall action. The exact labels vary. A Public Index case result can help identify a court, but it does not replace the municipal clerk's current status.
Do not make up a city-wide number format or assume each court exposes the same bond field. Ask the office named on the citation for a copy and the latest action.
| Case / citation number | Case No. Use the identifier printed by the city court. |
|---|---|
| Court agency | Names the city Municipal Court holding the case. |
| Charge | May describe a city traffic, misdemeanor, or ordinance matter. |
| Dates and action | Shows the court date, warrant, FTA, payment, return, or recall event. |
| Fine or bond | Use the current amount set by the judge or court record. |
Mauldin's 2026 Court-System Transition
Mauldin's February 2026 Public Safety Committee agenda describes a move from Lawtrak to the statewide Judicial Branch case-management system, with Public Index and payment integration goals. Court technology can change field labels and update timing. The agenda does not say that a warrant was recalled or that an amnesty exists.
Mauldin's court page says failure to appear can result in an arrest warrant and jail or fine. Payment plans are arranged in person, phone payments are not accepted, and online payment may take up to three business days. Call the court to confirm current terms.
Resolving a Greenville County Municipal Warrant
Call the issuing city court and ask what is required. A city may accept payment, set an appearance, or require a judge to recall the warrant. Greer, Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn publish different payment rules. No shared county process or current amnesty was verified.
Bring the citation or case number and keep proof of payment or appearance. Ask how the court will show recall or closure. A payment page may not update a warrant instantly, and the County Clerk cannot resolve a file it does not hold.
- Confirm the court, amount, and exact warrant action with the city clerk.
- Follow its current payment or appearance procedure, and ask whether a judge must act.
- Keep the receipt or order and request written proof of recall or disposition.
- Contact the court again if the online case still shows an old status.
Warning: Do not assume that paying a ticket closes a warrant; ask the issuing court whether a separate appearance or recall order is needed.
Fountain Inn Municipal Court Covers Two Counties
Fountain Inn Municipal Court handles city-limit cases in both Greenville and Laurens Counties. Its jurisdiction remains municipal, so a city ordinance or traffic case starts with the Fountain Inn court even when the city boundary crosses a county line.
The Judicial Courts page uses 300 Wall Street, while another official proceedings page displays 200 N Main Street. Use the Judicial Courts page for the published contact and schedule, then confirm the address before travel. The differing official pages should not be silently treated as one verified location.
